Hyundai Motor Reports January Global Sales

(Seoul, Korea February 01, 2010) Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea's largest automaker, reports its domesticand overseas sales results for January 2010.

Domestic Sales
¢º Up 68.9%, due to a base effect from a year earlier when the consumer demand was the lowest since the 1997-98 Asian financial crisis, weighed down by a sluggish economy. At the same time, the succesful launch of new models, Tucson ix and Sonata, also boosted the sales.

¢º The Sonata ranked top in the Korea market, selling 15,362 units. Of this figure, 13,928 units were the all-new Sonata model, which was launched in the domestic market last year in September.
Overseas Sales
¢º Up 45.9%.
¢º Exports up 27.8%.
¢º Sales of overseas plant increased by 56.0%.
