Hyundai Motor Appoints Havas Media
for Media Planning & Buying
(Seoul, Korea) After undertaking a major review of its worldwide media planning and buying activities, Hyundai Motor Company -together with Kia Motors Corp.- has appointed Havas Media to operate a consolidated program from the beginning of 2010.
The new media planning and buying program is designed to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, while optimizing pan-regional opportunities, co-ordination of central and local advertising campaigns and supporting a clear brand separation.
Hyundai and Kia’s creative process and brand identities remain completely separate and there will be no overlap of resource, personnel or ideas in the creative process.
“The media agency consolidation maximizes synergies and leverages the scale of our operation to reduce costs across our global marketing operations,” said Sean S.H. Kim, Senior Vice President of Hyundai’s Marketing Division.
“Havas Media has demonstrated an excellent understanding of our business needs, plus high levels of expertise, which will be key to our future growth worldwide,” added Kim.
The new agency will be responsible for media planning and buying in five regions – Western & Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, Asia-Pacific (excluding Korea) and India. Havas Media replaces several agencies that previously serviced Hyundai and Kia’s media needs.
